This morning, December 20, a Russian missile strike on Kyiv caused damage to a building housing the embassies of Albania, Argentina, Palestine, North Macedonia, Portugal, and Montenegro.

The strike caused significant damage: windows and doors were shattered, and ceilings were destroyed. The incident was reported by Ukrainian Foreign Ministry representative Georgiy Tykhyi during a briefing.

The building, managed by the General Directorate for Diplomatic Service, is currently being assessed by experts to determine the extent of the damage. No embassy staff were injured.

As Tykhyi noted, this shelling is a violation of international norms and crosses "red lines."

Additionally, the attack damaged a business center, restaurants, and St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Cathedral.

One civilian was killed, and 12 others were injured, adding to the grim toll of destruction.

U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink stated on social media that the attack resulted in the death of a civilian, with fires and destruction across the city.

The diplomat emphasized that the U.S. and its partners are increasing support for Ukraine by providing energy and security assistance. These measures aim to counter Russia's brutal attacks, which intensify during the winter.

Earlier, it was reported that on December 20, a Russian missile strike on Kyiv destroyed infrastructure. In the Holosiivskyi district, offices, heating pipelines, and gas lines were damaged. One person was killed, and ten were injured. A total of 630 buildings, 16 hospitals, and 17 schools were left without heat. A business center and other structures were on fire. Transportation is operating with disruptions.

Previously, it was reported that Ukrainian defense forces repelled the largest air attack, destroying 81 missiles and 80 drones, while 105 drones were successfully diverted from their targets.
