On Wednesday morning, February 5, an incident occurred at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA): a Japan Airlines plane clipped the tail of a parked Delta Airlines aircraft.
The incident happened at 10:17 AM local time, as reported by the airport's press service on social media.
According to preliminary reports, the wing of the Japan Airlines aircraft sliced into the tail section of the Delta plane while taxiing. Eyewitnesses on board described the situation as terrifying: “We were just sitting when another plane crashed into us. It was really scary.”
Despite the damage, no injuries were reported. The airport assured that the incident did not affect terminal operations. Both aircraft are currently being inspected by technical specialists.
Passengers were safely disembarked and transported to the airport terminal.
Earlier, it was reported that in the United States, near Ronald Reagan Airport, a passenger plane operated by American Airlines collided with a military helicopter and crashed, resulting in the deaths of dozens of people, including famous figure skaters of Russian emigrant descent.
It was also reported that on a Lufthansa flight from Buenos Aires to Frankfurt, 11 people were injured due to severe turbulence, but the plane successfully landed.
