Germany, France, Poland, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, the European External Action Service, and the European Commission issued a joint statement expressing their readiness to strengthen support for Ukraine. The statement was published on the website of the German Foreign Ministry.

European leaders reaffirmed their commitment to Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in the face of ongoing Russian aggression.

They emphasized that support for Kyiv will continue until a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace is achieved, taking into account the interests of Ukraine and Europe.

Additionally, EU countries intend to discuss further steps with the US to ensure Ukraine has a strong position in negotiations. In their view, Ukraine and Europe must participate in any peace process.

The leaders stressed that European security is their shared responsibility. In this regard, the EU is actively working on strengthening collective defense to guarantee long-term regional stability.

Earlier, it was reported that London and Berlin agreed on new measures to support Ukraine and strengthen Europe’s defense. During a meeting at Chequers, the British Prime Minister and the German Chancellor discussed military aid to Ukraine, European security issues, migration, and relations with the EU.

It was also revealed that Germany is ready to consider participating in an international peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, but only after the end of Russian aggression.
