Today marks three years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as stated on the website of the Prime Minister of Australia.

Australia has reaffirmed its support for Kyiv by announcing its largest sanctions package against Russia since 2022.

The sanctions target 70 individuals and 79 entities, including officials, judges, and prosecutors from occupied Ukrainian territories, as well as organizations aiding Russia’s military aggression. Additionally, sanctions have been imposed on individuals involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children and war crimes.

One of the key objectives of the new package is to counter the deepening military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.

Australian authorities stated that the transfer of weapons and the involvement of North Korean troops in combat operations pose a security threat not only to Europe but also to the entire Indo-Pacific region.

In addition to sanctions, Australia has tightened trade restrictions, banning the export of commercial drones and their components to Russia. Australia’s total aid to Ukraine has already exceeded $1.5 billion, with $1.3 billion allocated for military support.

Australia calls on Russia to immediately end the war and comply with international law.

Earlier, it was reported that the European Union is closing loopholes for Russian assets and increasing military aid to Ukraine in an effort to strengthen its position ahead of possible negotiations with Moscow.

It was also revealed that the United Kingdom has imposed sanctions on ZSERVERS — a key element of Russian cybercrime, as well as its British company XHOST and six employees involved in attacks on critical infrastructure worldwide.
